SJPS Transportation Handbook

Dear Parents,

Transportation information for your student will be available via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, approximately one week before the first day of school. Please check your information in the parent portal to ensure the correct information is listed.  If you find an error, please submit a Household Information and Transportation Change Form  NO later than July 1, 2017. Forms received after September 1, 2017 will not be processed by the first day of school. The form is located in the area to the right on the transportation website under Forms. You may email the completed  form to:  hibblerj@sjredwings.org

Bus Transportation/Routing Guidelines

Neighborhood Elementary School Attendance Boundaries

Riley Elementary: N. of Howe Rd; S. of M-21 (Excluding Oakview Area); W. of Business 27; E. of Wacousta Rd

East Olive Elementary: N. of Round Lake Rd; S. of M-21; W. of St. Clair Rd.; E. of Business 27

Oakview South Elementary: N. of Parks Rd; S. of M-21; W. of Williams Rd; E. of Airport Rd

Eureka Elementary: N. of M-21 (Excluding Gateway Area); S. of N. County Line Rd; W. of St. Clair Rd; E. of Wacousta Rd

Gateway North Elementary:  N. of M-21, S. of Walker Rd; W. of Scott Rd; E. of Airport Rd

 

Walk Zones

Students in the specified walk zone areas are ineligible for transportation.

High School, Middle School and Alternative Education: Townsend Rd  N., to M-21, to Morton St. (including west interconnecting streets), E. to Oakland St

Oakview South Elementary: Townsend Rd N., to Clark St, Lansing St  E. to Swegles St

Gateway North Elementary: Vauconsant/Ross St  N., to Walker Rd, W. to Morton St (including Morton Street Trailer Park, E. to the W. side of Clinton Ave

St. Joseph Catholic School: Clark St  N., to S. side of M-21, Lansing St E. to W. of Business 27

Rural Elementary Schools: May be defined in the future

 

Transportation Change Requests

If your student's transportation needs change, please complete the Transportation Change Request Form. This form must be completed to ensure the change is processed. Verbal change requests are not accepted. A separate form must be submitted for each student that requires a change. When completed, this form needs to be submitted to the Transportation Department. Forms are available by clicking the Forms link to the upper right.

Schools of Choice - Intradistrict

If you have been selected for intra-district schools of choice, and your daycare provider is within the schools of choice school boundary area, transportation will be provided if the student is determined eligible. Otherwise, transportation is the sole responsibility of the parents/guardians.

Day Care Provisions: Other than Adventure Club

If your daycare is within the student's neighborhood school boundary area, and on the current route, transportation will be provided.

If your daycare is located within the walk zone of your neighborhood school boundary area, the student is ineligible for transportation.

If your daycare is out of your neighborhood school boundary area, you are responsible for all transportation.
