St. Johns High School Athletic Hall of Fame – Class of 2026
Congratulations to the class of 2026 who was inducted into the St. Johns High School Athletic Hall of Fame on Thursday, September 3rd, 2026.
Travis Dickenson (09'), Eric Nunn (17'), Zach Rosendale (17'), 2015-2016 Boys Golf Team, 2016-2017 Boys Golf Team
Travis Dickenson (Football/Wrestling): Class of 2009
At St. Johns, Travis was a dominant two-sport force, earning seven varsity letters across football and wrestling. A relentless leader on and off the field, he served as a two-year wrestling captain and football captain, earning Academic All-State and Capital Area Activities Conference All-Academic honors. On the gridiron, he was a two-time All-Conference selection, named to the 2008 Lansing State Journal Dream Team, and selected for the Michigan All-Star Football Game.
On the mat, Travis helped capture the 2009 Team District and Regional Wrestling Championships, while earning individual District and Regional titles on his way to becoming the 2009 State Runner-Up. For his extraordinary senior campaign, he earned All-State honors in both sports and was named the 2009 St. Johns High School Male Athlete of the Year.
Travis continued his stellar dual-sport career at Amherst College. On the football field, he was a First-Team All-NESCAC selection, two-time NESCAC All-Academic honoree, and the 2012 Amherst Team MVP. In wrestling, he was a three-time NCWA All-American, the Northeast Conference Champion at 235 pounds, an NCWA All-Academic selection, and winner of Amherst’s Most Outstanding Wrestler Award.
Following his athletic and academic career at Amherst, Travis transitioned to commercial real estate finance in New York City, starting at J.P. Morgan. Today, he oversees the commercial loan portfolio at Lightstone Capital in Manhattan while managing his own real estate portfolio. Outside of his career, Travis resides in Monmouth County, New Jersey, and is the proud father of three wonderful children: Brielle, Isla, and Wesley.
Upon learning of his induction into the Hall of Fame, Travis shared that he was "overwhelmed with pride and flooded with fond memories of my teammates, coaches, and community throughout the years."
Eric Nunn (Golf): Class of 2017
A powerhouse on the golf course, Eric left an indelible mark on the St. Johns golf program, earning four varsity letters and serving as a two-time team co-captain. Across four years of high school competition, he maintained an astounding average score of 76. A four-time All-League selection and three-time CAAC All-Academic honoree, Eric was named to the Lansing State Journal All-Area Dream Team twice and earned Division 2 First Team All-State honors three times.
Individually, Eric was a consistent force on Michigan’s biggest stage, placing 15th at the state tournament in 2015, capturing 3rd place in 2017, and finishing as the Division 2 Individual State Runner-Up in 2016 following a dramatic first-place sudden victory playoff. His elite play was foundational to the program's greatest era, helping lead St. Johns to back-to-back Division 2 State Championships in 2016 and 2017.
Eric took his talent to Grand Valley State University, competing for the Lakers from 2017 to 2022. There, he was a three-time All-GLIAC selection—earning Second Team honors twice—and a four-time GLIAC All-Academic standout.
After graduating from Grand Valley, Eric returned home. Today, he serves as a Senior Credit Analyst in the Capital Markets segment at GreenStone Farm Credit Services HQ in East Lansing, underwriting loans and managing credit portfolios for large-scale agribusinesses. Eric and his wife, Sadie, reside right here in St. Johns, and earlier this year, they welcomed their baby daughter, June Renee, who keeps them happily on their toes.
Upon learning of his induction, Eric shared that he immediately looked forward to reuniting with Coach Sternburgh and his championship teammates—and added that he is always looking for an excuse to put those state championship rings back on.
Zach Rosendale (Golf): Class of 2017
One of the most decorated golfers in St. Johns history, Zach rewrote the record books during his high school career. A four-year letter winner and three-time team co-captain, he set school records for the lowest freshman scoring average at 38.1, the lowest 18-hole average at 70.4, and the lowest single 18-hole score in school history with a phenomenal 66.
Zach was a four-time All-League selection, a three-time CAAC All-Academic honoree, a three-time Lansing State Journal Dream Team selection, and was named the Lansing State Journal Golfer of the Year. A four-time Division 2 First Team All-State honoree, he placed 9th at the state tournament in 2014, 5th in 2016, and capped off his high school career as the 2017 Division 2 Individual State Champion. He earned a spot on the prestigious MIGCA Super Team twice and was crowned Mr. Golf in the State of Michigan in 2017—all while helping anchor the St. Johns back-to-back State Championship teams in 2016 and 2017.
Following high school, Zach took his talents to East Lansing, becoming a four-year letter winner for Michigan State University and earning Academic All-Big Ten honors three times.
After college, Zach spent several years immersed in golf at the highest levels—serving as a Division 1 Assistant Coach at MSU, an Assistant Golf Professional in Chicago, and caddying professionally on the PGA Tour and Asian Tour across the globe. Today, he works as a Commercial Account Executive with Mohawk Industries. Zach resides in Libertyville, Illinois, with his wife of three years, Kate, and their energetic golden retriever, Ryder.
Upon learning of his induction, Zach reflected: “I felt incredibly honored and grateful. It was a moment that made me reflect on all the people who supported and encouraged me throughout my journey. I’m especially thankful for my coaches, teammates, family, and friends who played such an important part in shaping who I am today.”

Under the leadership of Coach Paul Sternburgh, the 2016 Redwings put together an unforgettable campaign. During regular season play, St. Johns proved to be a dominant force, securing six top-five tournament finishes and capturing the Capital Area Activities Conference Red Division Championship.
When the postseason arrived, the Redwings elevated their play even further. They captured the District Championship title and secured a 3rd place finish in Regional competition to punch their ticket to the state finals. On Michigan high school golf's grandest stage, the Redwings delivered a masterful performance—posting a team score of 597 to officially crown themselves the 2016 Division 2 State Champions.

Guided by Head Coach Paul Sternburgh, the 2017 Redwings followed up their historic 2016 run with a season of absolute dominance. In regular-season tournament play, St. Johns earned top-three finishes in nine tournaments, including two outright 1st-place victories. They were completely unstoppable in league play, going undefeated to repeat as Capital Area Activities Conference Red Division Champions.
In the MHSAA postseason, the Redwings placed 2nd at Regionals to qualify for the state finals and earn their chance to defend the crown. Competing at the highest level once again, St. Johns posted a winning team score of 603 to claim back-to-back Division 2 State Championships.
